Prioritizing the Dimensions of the Digital University in the COVID-19 Pandemic and Post-Pandemic Era

Abstract
Background and Objectives: The COVID-19 pandemic, as a powerful catalyst, accelerated the transition process from traditional universities to digital universities; however, the accelerated transition to virtual environments has created numerous infrastructural, educational, and managerial challenges for higher education institutions. Therefore, the aim of this study was to rank the dimensions of the digital university during the COVID-19 and post-COVID-19 pandemic.

Methods: This research was applied in terms of purpose and descriptive in terms of method, survey type. Its statistical population consisted of 1851 faculty members of large medical universities in Region 1, of which 320 were selected as samples based on the Cochran formula using a stratified random sampling method. A researcher-made questionnaire with 60 questions was used to collect data. The validity and reliability of the instrument were confirmed. The Friedman test was used to analyze the data.

Results: The ranking of the dimensions of the digital university during the Corona pandemic and post-Corona is different, and university culture is ranked first with an average rating of 4.56 and university policy is ranked last with an average rating of 3.24. Therefore, the ranking of the dimensions of the digital university during the Corona pandemic and post-Corona are respectively: university culture, educational content, curriculum, teaching-learning methods, educational infrastructure, human resources and university policy.

Conclusion: University culture is the most important aspect of a digital university during the COVID-19 and post-COVID pandemic in large medical universities in the region, so university managers and officials should pay special attention to this aspect.
